For more than 50 years Colombia has been living an armed conflict with left-wing Guerrilla FARC and is now breaking new ground. The conflict has left more than 220.000 people dead and more than 5 million displaced. In 2012 the negotiations between the Colombian Government and the heads of the FARC started and eventually have come to an end with the signing of the peace agreement in late 2016 after 4 years of hard negotiating.
Even after the signing, the peace dialogues are still a huge topic in Colombian society. The next years whole Colombia will have to work in establishing a new social order in where the most important things are peace, respect for the differences and social justice.
Our CPOs are working in this highly interesting process. You, as a highly-motivated volunteer, can help them to make peace reality in Colombia and make the world a better place, either with research or with direct contact with the local population.
