Top Reasons to Skip Coffee at Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom

Don’t get waylaid waiting in line for coffee at the Main Street Bakery when you first enter the Magic Kingdom in the morning. You may have heard that getting to the park bright and early so you can rope-drop when it first opens will ensure you can ride the most rides at Disney. That can be a helpful strategy, especially if you’re staying at a Disney hotel and can take advantage of the Early Theme Park Entry benefit, which allows guests to enter the park 30 minutes before it opens to everyone else. However, if you’re not a morning person, you may need coffee in your system to make the rope-drop plan happen. The Main Street Bakery isn’t necessarily the best option for a quick caffeine jolt at the Magic Kingdom since it tends to draw long lines in the a.m.

It’s understandable why the Main Street Bakery is such a popular choice, if for no other reason than because it’s the one place in the park that serves Starbucks Coffee. It’s got the name recognition and is right there, with a sign advertising “Fresh Roasted Coffee” when you first walk in and head down Main Street toward Cinderella Castle. That said, given the ubiquity of Starbucks and its over 38,000 locations outside Disney, there are certainly more unique, less time-consuming options for coffee than the same old frappuccino you always drink. One such option is the Florida-based Joffrey’s, the official specialty coffee of Disney World.

Every official, on-site Disney World hotel includes a setup with complimentary Joffrey’s Coffee. You can make it right in your room when you wake up, but you may not have time for that if you’re in a hurry. While skipping the breakfast rush at Disney World is not a bad idea, you can still grab some Joffrey’s Coffee on the go while you’re making your way to the Magic Kingdom. There’s one Joffrey’s location at the Transportation and Ticket Center, right by the entrance to the ferry boat for the Magic Kingdom. If you happen to be staying on the monorail loop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you can also find Joffrey’s Coffee at the Contemporary Grounds shop before you leave the hotel.

Inside the Magic Kingdom, Joffrey’s Revive kiosk in Tomorrowland usually has shorter lines than the Main Street Bakery. It’s also been known to offer some fun, themed drinks like the Mission to S’mores Latte and the Team Blue Frappe (the latter blended with Powerade Mountain Berry Blast as a tie-in with the TRON Lightcycle / Run ride). You can also refuel at the Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland, which has Freshly Brewed and Cold Brew French Roast Joffrey’s Coffee on the menu. Any one of these places might help you stay caffeinated, remain functional, and show some Florida-style brand loyalty to Joffrey’s at Disney while avoiding the long morning lines for Starbucks Coffee at the Main Street Bakery.
