If you’re in the Midwest (or plan to be soon) and would love to enjoy a quick romantic getaway, consider renting a cabin at a couples-only resort in Indiana. Serenity Springs in La Porte is ideal for those who want to connect with nature and each other. La Porte is just a short drive from Michigan City, South Bend, Valparaiso, and Chicago in Northwestern Indiana.

With more than 30 romantic cabins on 85 acres in the woods, this award-winning resort offers a peaceful escape from life’s distractions. Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, it features a private lake where guests can relax and feed the ducks. The cabins were designed with privacy and romance in mind, from soothing amenities to luxurious services to sweet and spicy add-on options. Whether you want to spend time together in nature or rekindle your relationship, this Midwest getaway could be what you’ve been looking for.

Different cabins are available, such as channel view, lakefront, and pond view. Each cabin is uniquely designed with special features catering to guests’ preferences. You can stay in cabins with heart-shaped sunken tubs, massage chairs, lofts, or enclosed back porches. During winter, guests can opt for cabins with heated floors to make their stay even cozier. All cabins have a fireplace, a sunken whirlpool tub for two, and a signature “butler door” for private deliveries. You’ll get juices, a snack basket, and a breakfast basket to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The establishment can even accommodate special dietary needs.

You can choose from romantic add-on packages to infuse extra romance into your stay. For instance, the Mimosa Wrap-up package includes two plush robes, a Yankee Jar Candle, a therapeutic heated neck wrap, a bottle of Mimosa, and orange chocolate. The Rose Petal Package includes champagne, gourmet chocolates, a scented bubble bath, silk rose petals, candles, and other surprises. These packages are a great way to personalize your experience and create lasting memories in this nature-infused retreat. One thing the cabins do not have is Wi-Fi. This is intentional, as the resort hopes to encourage couples to put devices away and focus on each other.

Serenity Springs offers a variety of fun activities for couples who enjoy spending time in nature. You can enjoy feeding ducks by the private lake or shoreline fishing on-site. You can also explore the beautiful surroundings on bikes. For meals, you can cook your own food using the provided grill or order from local restaurants and have them delivered to your cabin (right into the wooden box affixed to the butler door). Interestingly, this delivery box can be opened from either side and features light indicators alerting you to deliveries.

If you’re looking for things to do, there are plenty of nearby attractions you can check out. You can visit the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, which has beautiful beaches, forests, and wetlands. You can also see the historic Michigan City Lighthouse on Lake Michigan.
