Beautiful Lake Tahoe

When it comes to breathtaking destinations in the USA, it’s difficult to argue that fewer do it better than Lake Tahoe. Known for its aquatic blue waters, snowcapped mountains, abundance of pine trees, and signature milky grey rocks jutting from the water, a visit to Lake Tahoe is like a transformation directly into a postcard. Because of this, many visitors choose to become one with nature and sleep at a campground.

Not mutually exclusive with a rugged lifestyle, some campgrounds have expanded over the years to become more like resorts for those who love the great outdoors but want to be comfortable. One of the best near Lake Tahoe is Zephyr Cove RV Park & Campground. This RV park is so coveted that it placed fourth in USA Today’s Top 10 Best RV Parks in 2021. With a prime location, Zephyr Cove has a wide variety of rooms, endless amenities and activities to partake in, and even regular changing promotions, like a third night free and advance purchase discounts. If Lake Tahoe is on your bucket list, plan it the right way by embarking on that good open-road life, and spending a few nights at the coveted Zephyr Cove.

At Zephyr Cove RV Park & Campground, you’ll have the option of various styles of lodging. If you’ve ever wanted to experience an AirStream aluminum camper but don’t have access to your own, Zephyr Cove has got you covered. Each room includes one queen bed, a fully equipped kitchen, Adirondack chairs, a gas grill and fire pit, an additional lounge bed, a picnic table, and a bathroom. Please note that AirStream rooms require a minimum two-night stay.

If you already have an RV, there are 93 RV campsites to choose from. They will each accommodate a vehicle up to 40 feet long, and include water, sewer, a picnic table, 30/50 electrical, and a fire ring. Alternatively, there are 47 “walk-in” campsites, which you have to physically walk up a hill to reach, and 10 drive-in campsites. Some of the drive-in campsites have stunning views of Lake Tahoe and include picnic tables, fire rings, barbecues, and in true Sierra Nevada Mountain fashion, bear-proof food lockers.

Ample activities to enjoy

Beyond the campsite options, there are plenty of activities you can partake in while enjoying your stay. After all, you came to Lake Tahoe in the first place to enjoy it and all of its offerings, right? For adrenaline junkies, take in the views of Lake Tahoe from the skies. Parasailing over Lake Tahoe is an unforgettable experience, and you can ride either solo or with a buddy for $95 per person.

If you’d rather enjoy the water by being directly on it, then you can with watercraft rentals. You can rent the resort’s designated 36-feet pontoon Weekender boat. The pontoon includes a barbecue, a bathroom, and even a water slide. With a 12-person capacity, the boat costs anywhere from $1,485 for four hours to $2,270 for eight hours. Note that this does not include the cost of fuel, but for easy access, there’s a boat fueling station directly on-site at Zephyr Cove Resort. When you need a break from the water, give horseback riding a go. You’ll have a cowboy as your guide and can choose from either a one- or two-hour ride through scenic trails.
