At the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, Los Cabos is brimming with white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and natural beauty that extends as far as the eye can see. Plus, with its luxurious couples destinations and world-class fine dining restaurants, it’s the perfect destination for travelers looking to relax by the water, soak up some sun, and enjoy some well-deserved intimacy — especially around Valentine’s Day.

One of these must-see destinations is the buzzed-about Las Ventanas al Paraíso. One of Esquire Magazine’s favorite hotels in the world — and owned and operated by the team at Rosewood Resorts — Las Ventanas is all about opulence, elegance, and beauty. Combine that with seafront views and a touch of local flair, what’s not to love?

With 84 suites and villas to choose from, as well as the 29,000-square-foot Ty Warner Mansion, guests can enjoy all of the perks of five-star luxury and peace away from the crowds. When it comes to treating your partner to an unforgettable couples getaway — and an even more memorable Valentine’s Day experience — no one does personalized, romantic indulgence better than Las Ventanas.

A couple’s paradise

In order to help you make the most of your experience, Las Ventanas currently offers a selection of bespoke packages that cater to guests’ specific needs. On one hand, their special “Romance Redefined” package offers travelers the couples getaway of their dreams. For example, a $1,750 per-night Garden Suites includes a full spa treatment, as well as the opportunity to “adopt” a native flower that’s then planted in the hotel’s garden in their honor. Keep in mind, however, that the offer has a three-night minimum stay.

This year, Las Ventanas will also offer a luxurious Valentine’s Day dinnertime event at one of their on-site restaurants, Alebrije. Curated by Chef Ovidio Pérez, the evening’s five-course set menu will be served to the tune of the resort’s live band while you and your loved one enjoy front-row views of the ocean. Additionally, if you’re looking to take things up a notch, you can also reserve one of the resort’s “sunken tables” — which are submerged in the hotel pool — for the occasion. If you opt for this, the evening also includes one bottle of Dom Pérignon champagne, engraved champagne glasses with you and your partner’s initials, a 250-rose bouquet designed by a local flower shop, and fireworks to wrap up the evening. For more details on how to book the experience, reach out to the resort in advance.

Other ways to enjoy your stay

Las Ventanas beach cabanas and sun loungers

Once in Los Cabos, Las Ventanas has plenty more to offer. First, you’ve got their eight pools, including an infinity pool that looks out onto the beach and their very own lazy river, so there’s no shortage of waterfront leisure. Plus, you also get to enjoy all the perks of a poolside butler while you lounge — which basically means margaritas to your heart’s content!

On the beach, Las Ventanas’ sun beds and cabanas are the perfect spot for some seaside relaxation. Want to surprise your partner after the sun sets? Beach dinners are available as an extra service from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. As for staying active, other activities include private yacht charters, snorkeling and scuba diving, sailing, and sport fishing. Humpback whales pass through the area from December to April, so you can also make the most of this opportunity to see them up close and go on a whale-watching tour. Away from the water, the resort also offers golf and tennis, as well as horseback riding, buggy tours, and off-road adventures.

Once you’re all tuckered out, Las Ventanas has six different dining options that range from laid-back spots to fine dining experiences. Two guest favorites include La Botica, their on-site speakeasy, which serves bespoke cocktails and puts on a show with a live band every evening from Tuesday to Sunday; and Arbol, an elevated take on Asian cuisine made with local Baja ingredients. As for a more casual dining experience, the Tequila & Ceviche Bar will be sure to delight your taste buds with fresh seafood and the finest spirits on offer.
