Not every photogenic hotel is as luxurious in real life as it appears in your social media feed. Thankfully, Kontiki Beach Resort ticks both boxes, looking as stunning in pictures (just check the accommodation’s Instagram profile to see what we mean) as it does in person.

The resort is located on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao, right on a long stretch of pristine beaches. Just steps from Kontiki Beach Resort is Mambo Beach, one of the most popular destinations on the entire island. The spot is a natural paradise, with its white sand and sparkling blue waters, and it offers plenty of amenities, including shopping and restaurants. Mambo Beach becomes your backyard when you book a room at Kontiki.

Just near the beach, you’ll also find nightlife hotspots, including the lively Wet & Wild Beach Club, the cozy Cafe 40 B, and Live 973 (make sure to try the cocktails when you visit). If you’re an early sleeper, the noise may be a nuisance, but if you’re the type to join the party, you’ll appreciate Kontiki’s close proximity to the area’s buzzy bars and clubs.

When you’re ready to rest after a day of beach and bar hopping, you’ll be treated to a slice of Caribbean luxury in Kontiki Beach Resort’s superb rooms. Arguably, the best accommodations are the resort’s suites, which come in four different varieties: Beach Front, Sea View, Penthouse Seaview, and Presidential. No matter which you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Each suite comes with its own private plunge pool, a view of the Caribbean Sea, a stylish interior, and plenty of space to lounge around in.

The Tropical Superior, the resort’s only non-suite-style room, might not be as equipped as its larger counterparts, but it doesn’t skimp on luxury and comfort. The 40-square-meter (431-square-feet) room is plenty for most travelers and comes with a king-size bed, a rainshower, a terrace, and easy access to the resort’s shared facilities. These rooms are your best bet if you want to maximize your budget — nightly rates can be as low as $198, depending on the day and season, while suites can run you back $615 or more per night.

Curaçao is a Caribbean destination brimming with exciting things to do, from reef diving to hiking in postcard-worthy parks to learning about the island’s history through its museums and guided tours. However, we all have days on vacation when we hardly want to lift a finger, and Kontiki Beach Resort offers plenty of fun and amenities to keep you occupied at your home base.

First, remember we mentioned how stunning the resort grounds are? That’s largely thanks to its perfectly manicured tropical gardens and the saltwater lagoon-style pools that surround the hotel rooms. When the beach gets too crowded, take a dip right outside your door or chill poolside with a drink in hand for the dreamiest vacation vibes. If you want to feel pampered, book one of the resort’s massages, with options including a scalp massage, body scrub treatment, and hot stone massage. Or, treat yourself to a manicure or pedicure instead, available right at Kontiki’s Mood Beach wellness area.

As a guest at the resort, you’ll also want to visit the on-site beach clubs that combine coastal views and culinary indulgences. Grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Cabana Beach, or enjoy a meal of steak and seafood at the Mood Beach restaurant.
