Guinness is a brand known well around the world and its Storehouse in the heart of Dublin is one of the most popular sights to visit during a trip to Ireland. It is so popular that the Storehouse has received millions of visitors since it opens its doors to the public in 2000, and celebrated its 20 millionth visitor in April 2019.

Tourists arrive from all over the world to learn about the brewing process of Guinness, the art of serving it in its harp-branded pint glass, and tasting the stout from its source at the Gravity Bar. The Guinness Storehouse offers a variety of tours of its seven floors, providing a unique history and overview of Ireland’s most iconic beer.

Guinness lovers are taken on a journey of the Storehouse that explains the role of barley, hops, and water in the brewing process. They also learn about the importance of carbon dioxide in the fermentation process and the role of yeast in the formation of alcohol. The best part? Visitors will end the tour by enjoying a nice cold Guinness stout at the Gravity Bar.

The Guinness Storehouse tour starts on the ground floor of the seven-story building and each additional level showcases the brewing process and the Guinness brand. The tour starts at the Seal of Guinness where visitors admire the 9,000-year lease granted to the company. You can even see and hear the freshwater waterfall that pumps into the brewery from the Wicklow Mountains outside of Dublin. You’ll also learn about the process of adding hops and barley to brew Guinness and the world’s first-ever nitrogenated beer.

The second level goes over the life of Arthur Guinness followed by the tasting experience, while the third floor takes you through the world of Guinness advertising and the Guinness Academy where you can learn the exact science of pouring a pint of Guinness. A skill worth learning and showing off to friends back home.

Next up is Arthur’s Bar and the 1837 Bar & Brasserie where the Guinness beef stew with mashed potatoes is a must-try. You’ll end your tour at the Gravity Bar tasting a Guinness stout while overlooking the 360 degree views of Dublin. The Guinness Storehouse Experience is the main tour provided at the storehouse that includes a pint of Guinness served at the Gravity Bar with panoramic views of Dublin. Note, the Guinness Storehouse offers a variety of add-ons to their basic tour so you can build the perfect experience.
