For your camping trip, you’ll obviously need a place to camp. You can choose between facing the elements in a tent or RV, or indulge in something more luxurious by staying in a cabin. For those wanting a rustic couple’s getaway, you can pitch your tent or park your RV at the Epsom Valley Campground. They have hookups available for RVs and dump stations. Once you’re set up and settled, you can cozy up by the fireplace, or go fishing (license required), or even play a round of mini golf while you’re there. Note that the campground is only open between May and October.

If you want a little bit more convenience, you can book a stay in one of the adorable and modern Getaway Blake Brook cabins. You’ll have a kitchen, A/C and heat, hot showers, and a giant window with forest views when you stay with them. It’s the perfect place to enjoy nature and your partner’s presence.

What to do

Once you have lodging figured out, you can plan your itinerary with your partner. Head into town and start your day early with a coffee and breakfast date at a  local diner. Grab your partner and head to the New Hampshire chain Country Cook’n at the Circle, which is known for having some of the best omelets in the state. You’ll find a menu full of items ranging from banana pancakes to eggs benedict and, of course, omelets. Once you’re fueled up, you’ll be ready to embark on an adventure. Lace up your hiking boots and venture into the Epsom Town Forest, which sprawls out for 460 acres.

Once you’re done, come back into town and window shop. While there’s not a wide variety of stores, there are quirky ones like Valley Artisans LLC, which is a small gift shop that sells art and crafts by local artists. Browse its selections and take home something that commemorates the time you and your partner had in the charming East Coast town.
