Near the beautiful coastline of Lake Huron, the Drummond Island Resort and Conference Center is a peaceful getaway in the spectacular setting of Northern Michigan. The resort offers year-round activities for guests who love to spend time outdoors, whether it’s kayaking on Potagannissing Bay in the summer or tubing down the property’s snowy hill in the winter. The Drummond Island Resort is proud to be a four-season retreat, which means that the pleasure of “island time” can last all year long.

Located just 60 miles north of the Mackinac Bridge, the resort is set on 1,800 acres of the scenic countryside of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s easy to reach Drummond Island by taking a 10-minute car ferry from the nearby city of DeTour. The island can also be reached by private boat by docking at the resort, or the Drummond Island Airport is located just a few minutes away. Many visitors each year are drawn to The Rock, the hotel’s 18-hole championship golf course at the resort, as well as the miles of hiking trails throughout the property that become the setting for cross-country ski expeditions in the winter. There’s even a 180-acre park dedicated to off-roading adventures. In the evening, guests will sleep well in one of the cozy cabins or a room in the rustic lodge. This resort offers a chance to create a getaway to Northern Michigan that is filled with variety and the beauty of the outdoors, no matter which season you choose for your visit.

The accommodations at the Drummond Island Resort include a choice of rooms in the Lodge or one of the vacation cabins on the property. All of the accommodations feature hardwood floors and knotty pine walls to create a warm and cozy atmosphere, with complimentary WiFi included for each guest’s convenience. On the ground floor of the Lodge, single rooms with a king bed include a miniature fridge and coffee maker. On the upper floor of the Lodge are the Loft Rooms, with vaulted wood-beamed ceilings and an extra sleeping loft at the top of the stairs inside the unit.

The separate cabins are positioned in different areas around the property, and most include a kitchen, living room, dining room, washer, and dryer. Outside each cabin is a firepit and outdoor grill. Each cabin offers additional amenities that are unique to the home, such as the Hermitage Cabin, which has a wood-burning fireplace and overlooks Beaver Pond. The Deer Track Fairway Cabin has a private deck and has a view of the 18th fairway of The Rock golf course. The Russell Cabin includes a porch swing, and The Pond Cabins overlook another inland pond on the property. The Bayside Cabins are located along Potagannissing Bay, which provide a scenic view of the water from an outdoor deck. The size of each cabin is different, ranging from an intimate cabin setting for two people to a larger home that can accommodate up to 18 guests.

No matter what your interest, there is an activity to keep you entertained, invigorated, and refreshed at the resort. During the warmer months, you can go paddleboarding, canoeing, or kayaking along the scenic shoreline. Spend the day on a 14-person pontoon boat, play a game of beach volleyball, or swim in the outdoor pool. Explore the property by hiking or biking along the miles of trails, or spend an exciting few hours on a 4×4 in the 180 acres of the Turtle Ridge Off-Road Park. Tackle The Rock championship golf course, or challenge a friend to a game of paintball. The tennis court can also host a game of badminton or pickleball. For a more relaxing activity, enjoy a visit to the Harbor Island National Wildlife Refuge or the Clyde and Martha Williams Nature Preserve. These destinations are wonderful for birdwatching, with varieties such as Osprey and the Sandhill Crane.

It’s a winter wonderland at the Drummond Island Resort, where guests can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling. Go tubing and sledding, or enjoy ice skating on the resort’s outdoor rink. After a day outdoors, you’ll be glad to visit either of the two restaurants on the property, Bayside Dining, or the family-friendly pub environment of Pins Bar and Grill. After dinner, it’s time to relax by the firepit, watch for the Northern Lights that will often appear during the fall and spring, and appreciate the time outdoors in Northern Michigan.
