Gone are the days when you need a traditional luxury resort to enjoy your vacation properly. Now, you can kick back and relax at an RV resort while embarking on a road trip in a camper van. While there are many things to know before renting an RV for your road trip, one of the most crucial factors is your destination. Certain establishments are more adept at hosting travelers who have chosen that sweet van life.

Near the top of the list of ideal regions for those who prefer journeying via RV and camper vans is the Pacific Northwest. Oregon is home to plenty of hidden gems and scenic road trip routes, and an overnight stay at Hart’s Camp Airstream Hotel & RV Park is the crème de la crème. The lodging has ample amenities, a prime location near Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area, a stunning swimming pool, and comfort for all ages. Hart’s Camp is a great way to enjoy Oregon’s endless adventures and spectacular views without leaving your RV or minivan behind.

For those new to RV resorts, you might assume they’re always bare bones — a place to park for the night and get some shuteye. However, as van life has become increasingly popular over the past several years, RV resorts have managed to keep up with the trends and update their amenities. Hart’s Camp Airstream Hotel & RV Park is no exception.

Take advantage of the swimming pool to cool off from the Northwestern sun, especially in the summer. Contrarily, if you visit in the winter, make use of the steaming hot tub. And while we’re on the subject of heating up, another way is to hit its fitness center. The one at Hart’s Camp is home to a treadmill, a stationary bike, and a multi-use strength machine.

For a breath of fresh air, don’t miss out on golf. Here, there’s a nine-hole putting course suitable for all ages. And, hey, speaking of all ages, if you brought the kiddos, there’s a fabulous playground for them to run around and meet friends. Anything you need fixed during your stay can be done at the Gear Shop. There are also activities available for community participation, such as corn hole and giant Jenga.

Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area

It’s safe to assume you chose RV travel because you like the great outdoors. Pacific City, Oregon, has certainly got you covered there. With state parks, beaches, and breweries with outdoor patios, you’ll get far beyond just a breath of fresh air when visiting. And while it might feel difficult to leave the RV premises, you’d be remiss not to, as the city has so much to enjoy.

Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area is ideal for those who want to see some of Oregon’s best natural beauty. Here, you’ll see sand dunes, tide pools, the glorious Pacific coast, and, if you’re lucky, some starfish. Bob Straub State Park is ideal for animal lovers, especially those who love horses. It’s one of the best places in the area for horseback riding, and it is quite idyllic along the beach.

For a more relaxed outdoor setting, head to Pelican Brewing Company. The outdoor patio provides a wonderful place to hang out. While Portland is regarded as one of the best U.S. cities for food lovers to add to their bucket list, Pacific City isn’t lagging too far behind. Even if you’re not the biggest craft beer fan, Pelican Brewing Company is still worth a visit thanks to its offerings like clam chowder, pizza, and fish and chips.
