When it comes to finding a place to park your RV, especially for those who live that carefree van life, destinations like Zion National Park, Northern California, or even remote Montana and Wyoming are some of the most common areas to set up shop. However, camping and van life are possible anywhere in the world, even in destinations you might not typically associate with the lifestyle of living and sleeping out of your vehicle.

One of the most unexpected destinations to enjoy the benefits of living on the wheels is in Miami-Dade County in Florida. When one thinks of Miami, van life is probably not the first image to come to mind. But being so closely located to Florida’s Everglades National Park, Miami is a better RV destination than you might realize. With this in mind, there’s a resort that can give you a nice mesh of city life and serene nature. Encore Miami Everglades is a prime location to simply have it all. Located close to both the Keys and Miami, with easy access to Everglades National Park, this RV resort is a perfect compromise without sacrifice (thanks to its plush amenities) to getting a little taste of everything.

Endless amenities for a comforting stay

If you’ve ever wondered how people manage to sufficiently survive while living on the road, a place like Encore Miami Everglades will quickly answer your question. Far more than just a place to camp up and sleep, this RV resort has amenities galore.

For starters, if you’re a remote worker, you’re in luck with Wi-Fi and high-speed internet. Traveling with a furry friend? Encore Miami Everglades is a pet-friendly accommodation and even has a dog park. For human playtime, head to the volleyball, basketball, shuffleboard, and pickleball courts. You can also play a round of mini-golf, or for those rainy days, head inside to take advantage of watching some cable TV.

To relax after a long day of exploring the South Florida area, enjoy the whirlpool, spa, hot tub, and swimming pool. And before you hit the road for your next location, take advantage of the resort’s on-site laundry facilities.

Plenty of worthy destinations nearby

Since you’ll have access to wheels, it’s worth noting what is nearby that makes this resort so spectacular. Location is everything, and at Encore Miami Everglades, that concept is at the forefront. Most notably, it’s only about 20 miles from Everglades National Park. Everglades National Park is one of the best national parks to see wildlife. Expect to see creatures like the protected manatee, the powerful American crocodile, and even the majestic Florida panther, of which there are only an estimated 120-130 left.

Approximately 40 miles south is Key Largo. Key Largo is a great introduction to the Florida Keys, being much more laidback than its more popular sister Key West. With dreamy hotel rooms for romantic getaways, Key Largo is ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving. You can expect to see vibrant coral reef and underwater critters like sea turtles, moray eels, and even sharks.

For a taste of city life, head to Miami. Located about 30 miles north, Miami is one of the most sought-after cities in the U.S. for good reason. There’s a bustling food scene, some of the best nightlife in the country, and beaches so picturesque, you’d think you’re in Bora Bora or the Maldives instead of on mainland U.S.
