On-site lodging options and activities

A big draw for families heading to Hersheypark Camping Resort is the opportunity to spend time at Hersheypark. While proximity to the theme park is exciting, campers here will find plenty of sweet moments to enjoy right on-site. If you choose to enjoy tent camping at this resort, you’ll be able to set up creekside for an extra scenic experience. Tent camping sites are available as primitive or deluxe versions, with the latter featuring electric and cable hook up as well as water available from mid-April through late October.

Guests who book their camping getaway at Hersheypark Camping Resort can also savor time in a log cabin or a deluxe cabin on-site. Electric, heating, and air conditioning are always included in cabin rentals, which can be customized as one or two-bedroom retreats. For an extra glamorous getaway, consider booking one of the resort’s tiny houses instead. These rentals come with all the comforts of a home on a miniature scale, including bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchenettes, private patios, fire rings, and beyond.

No matter what type of camping adventure you choose, guests can fill their free time with added fun. The camping resort hosts volleyball and basketball courts as well as horseshoe pits and a full indoor game room too. When temperatures are on the rise, take a dip in one or both of the two swimming pools, which are open seasonally. There are plenty of playgrounds for little ones to enjoy exploring as well.

Infusing sweetness into your camping experience in a more literal sense is an option too at Hersheypark Camping Resort. Head over to the Country Store and you’ll find all of the supplies you need to make s’mores. They also sell coffee, slushies, and snacks for guests to enjoy.

Once you’ve sugared up, make your way to nearby Hersheypark where rides, entertainment, and options for delicious dining abound. Originally designed by Milton S. Hershey as a leisure destination specifically for Hershey factory employees, Hersheypark is now a world-renowned theme park that welcomed over 3 million visitors in 2022 according to the Queue-Times. This year-round theme park hosts 15 roller coasters and a waterpark for guests to check out. There’s also a carousel, a train, bumper cars, swings, tea cups, a Hersey monorail, and much more.

A mouthwatering highlight for many Hersheypark guests is a stop at The Chocolatier. This full-service restaurant has menu options for the entire family but it’s definitely the dessert menu that keeps everyone coming back for more. You won’t want to leave without trying the warm s’mores and ice cream or the Hershey’s chocolate milkshake.

No matter when you camp, booking your stay at Hersheypark Camping Resort comes with some sweet perks. Depending on the season you arrive, there are park packages available with discounts on Hersheypark entrance fees. Extended park passes are offered seasonally and front gate shuttle service from the campgrounds to the Hersheypark entrance is also provided for guests.
