What to expect at the Field of Dreams Movie Site

One of many movie locations you can actually visit, the Field of Dreams Movie Site is free, but you might want to bring some extra cash for a donation. Guests can sit on the bleachers, take the field, or tour the property. The on-site concession stand, The Stretch, serves food you’d typically see at a baseball game, like hot dogs and cold drinks. There are also plenty of souvenirs for die-hard “Field of Dreams” fans to choose from. The on-site Baseball store — Baseballism — is where you can find all your “Field of Dreams” accessories. From T-shirts and baseball hats to art, tote bags, coasters, and, of course, baseballs, movie lovers will appreciate the use of creative movie quotes on a wide variety of merchandise.

As of 2023, construction near the baseball field was ongoing. An MLB stadium is scheduled to open in spring 2025, and a youth baseball/softball complex is also on the horizon. However, the construction does not interfere with the movie site, and the iconic baseball field will remain open.

Want to spend more time on the “Field of Dreams” movie set? There are a number of ways to get the full experience in Dyersville, Iowa.

Players, Field of Dreams Site

In 2021, the Field of Dreams Movie Site hosted a baseball game between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees, which drove a bump in tourism. The property didn’t host a game in 2023. Still, the small Midwest tourist spot offers plenty of opportunities for “Field of Dreams” lovers to spend more time on the set. For example, from Saturday, July 6, 2024, to Saturday, August 17, 2024, visitors can witness ghost players take the field on “Ghost Saturdays,” the self-proclaimed “Greatest Show on Dirt.” Admission is free, and the shows last an hour. Or, instead of watching, you can take a shot at running around the bases. In this case, visitors can swing by and throw a few balls, snap a few photos, and savor the magic of the moment. For a private experience, you can rent the field ($200 an hour) from Sundays to Wednesdays from April to October.

Home Tours of the Kinsella’s farmhouse are also available. Book a 30-minute tour ($20) to see the inside and learn more about the history of the house. Or even better yet — spend the night in the Kinsella farmhouse! Available to rent ($600 per night) from March through December, the abode can accommodate seven guests and comes with a gift basket.
