Camping is an opportune way to connect with nature — doing so in a secluded place allows for an even better experience with little to no disruptions. You can wake to birds chirping and the sound of rustling leaves rather than the rumbling hum of car engines. You can fall asleep at night under a canopy of stars and spend your days amongst the trees. Camping like this is a magical experience; for those living in Indiana, it’s even more possible than you think.

Hidden Paradise Campground, located in St. Paul, Indiana, lives up to its name. You’ll find 80 acres of campground, a wondrous water playground, hiking trails with gorgeous views, and more. “I highly recommend staying here. We stayed this past weekend and loved it,” a reviewer wrote on Yelp. “The place is beautiful and the fishing was great. Our camp neighbors were all pretty quiet and respectful when it got later in the night.”

Sure, there’s hiking and other expected outdoor activities that are certainly worthwhile and fun, but one of the main draws of this campsite is its water playground. The campground, which was built on an old rock quarry site, has a floating trampoline and obstacle course in the lake that’s perfect for those looking to take their lakeside adventures to the next level. Additionally, you can rent kayaks and paddle boats for a rowing day on the lake. If you’re not camping, you can still get in on the fun. Admission fees are $15 for ages 13 and up, $10 for ages 4 to 12, and free for children under 4 years old.

You can also go fishing. If you’d rather stay on the land and are interested in a game of basketball or volleyball, they have courts for you — just bring your own basketball and volleyball. There’s also a playground for the little ones to run around and have a good time. Overall, the campground is simple, with majestic views and fun activities that fit a variety of interests.
