You will find the magnificent Vail, Colorado, about two hours outside Colorado’s capital, Denver. Vail is the best of the best when it comes to skiing, as it is known for being Colorado’s top-tier skiing destination.
This winter haven has been open since 1962 and is home to one of the biggest ski resorts in the world. The resort is well-known for its back bowls, which, on their own, can keep skiers occupied for the whole season. Not to mention, there are plenty of long groomed runs with beautiful scenery overlooking the town of Vail. There are a variety of options for both expert and beginner skier types, so no more worrying if there will be something for you.
Another fantastic option Colorado has is Beaver Creek, which Vail Resort owns. To maintain skiers’ experience on the slopes, tickets are limited to a set number of outdoor adventurers. But there is plenty to go around with the 150 trail options and 1,800 skiable acres.

Another part of Colorado that brings in skiers from all over the nation is Breckenridge. In this mountain town, you will be met with the complete package. From green to black, groomed to moguls, Breckenridge has expert and beginner areas across the mountain.
Something unique that Breckenridge offers is the highest lift in North America. The Imperial Chairlift on Peak 8 summits nearly 13,000 feet. With that being said, it is good to remember that because of the high altitude of Breckenridge, if you are flying in from a lower elevation, on day one, it might be hard to catch your breath, so make sure you take time for your body to adjust.
The mountain is pretty easy to navigate due to its position on the front side of a series of peaks. So, skiing there should be swift and comfortable, as Breckenridge offers amazing slopes and some great on-mountain dining options that can make your trip much more enjoyable. Like Vail, Breckenridge will limit the amount of lift ticket sales to ensure everyone on the mountain can have a lovely time. Breckenridge is a popular option for late-season skiing, so it is good to keep that in mind.
Overall, your trip should be filled with wondrous views and skiing fun for everyone. So pack up for an incredible ski trip like nothing before because Colorado will surely leave you speechless.
